Stainless steel cabinets give you a solid bench top to work on and keep stock, utensils and clutter out of sight behind doors and drawers, ideal for open kitchens and front-of-house areas.

Types of stainless steel cabinets

  • Workbench cabinets have doors on one side and a flat stainless steel top. Choose a model with a splashback if the cabinet goes against a wall.
  • Pass-through cabinets have doors on both sides, so staff can reach stock from either side of an island bench.
  • Cabinets with drawers combine doors and drawers for utensils, tools and small stock.
  • Sink cabinets have one or two sink bowls set into the top, with doors and drawers below to hide pipes and cleaning gear.
  • Wall cabinets mount above a bench to keep dry goods and small items clean and off the work surface.
  • Mobile cabinets and bin stations sit on castors, so they can move to where they're needed and roll out for cleaning.

Choosing a cabinet

  • Size: most cabinets come 600mm or 700mm deep and 900mm high, to line up with standard work benches. Measure the space and allow room for doors to open.
  • Wall or island: use a splashback model against a wall and a pass-through model in an island.
  • Construction: look for 304 grade stainless steel tops. Welded, pre-assembled cabinets are stronger and quicker to install than flat-packed ones.

No. Taps are sold separately, so you can choose the tapware that suits your kitchen.
