Why use a glasswasher instead of a dishwasher?
A glasswasher is built around glassware: a lower wash chamber, gentler wash action and baskets designed to hold glasses upright. Many have a cold rinse option, so glasses come out cool and ready to pour straight away, which is exactly what a busy bar needs. And because detergent or rinse aid residue kills the head on a beer, a dedicated glasswasher with correctly dosed chemicals gives you beer-clean glasses every time.
How to choose a commercial glasswasher
Capacity
Think about how many glasses you need at your peak hour. The Norris Glassmate washes up to 800 glasses an hour, and the Asber GE-400BDD handles up to 30 baskets an hour with 90, 120 and 180 second cycles.
Basket size and clearance
Check your tallest glass. The Fagor WGT-400BDD takes a 400 x 400mm basket with up to 270mm clearance, which suits pint glasses, wine glasses and cocktail glassware.
Cold rinse
A cold rinse cycle finishes with cold water so glasses are cool to the touch and ready to use, which is ideal for beer. The Asber GE-400BDD has an independent cold rinse cycle and the Fagor WGT-400BDD offers a cold rinse.
Drain pump and dispensers
If your drain is higher than the machine outlet, choose a model with a drain pump, like the Asber GE-400BDD and Fagor WGT-400BDD. Built-in detergent and rinse aid dispensers dose chemicals automatically for consistent results.
Power
The Norris Glassmate comes in a 10 amp or 15 amp version, so you can choose the one that suits your power outlet. Check the electrical requirements on each product page before ordering.
Installation and care
A glasswasher needs a water connection and a drain, installed by a licensed plumber, and the right power outlet. In hard water areas, a water softener prevents scale and spotting. Empty and clean the filters daily, and clean the wash and rinse arms regularly.

Can a glasswasher wash plates?
Some can. The Asber GE-400BDD is a combined glass and dishwasher for small plates and cups. For a full kitchen load, see our underbench dishwashers.
Why do my beer glasses lose their head?
Usually residue from detergent, rinse aid or grease. Use chemicals made for glasswashers at the right dose, keep the machine clean, and do not wash glasses with greasy kitchen items.
Do you deliver Australia-wide?
