When do you need a rack conveyor dishwasher?
When a pass through dishwasher can no longer keep up. A rack conveyor dishwasher moves racks automatically through the machine, so staff simply load one end and unload the other in a continuous flow. It is the standard choice for hotels, clubs, hospitals, aged care, schools and large restaurants serving hundreds of covers.
How to choose a rack conveyor
Capacity
The Norris Madison IR120 washes up to 120 racks an hour, and the larger IR200 is built for even higher volumes. The Dihr RX 101E and RX 164E are compact conveyors rated up to 100 and 150 racks an hour, while the RX 246 and RX 296 reach 250 and 300 racks an hour.
Direction of travel
Conveyors are built to run left-to-right or right-to-left to suit your dish area layout. The Norris Madison machines come in left exit or right exit versions. The Dihr RX 101E has reversible wash and rinse zones, and the RX 164E runs right to left.
Drying units
A drying unit at the exit end blows hot air over the clean ware, so it comes out dry and ready to use and less steam escapes into the kitchen. The Norris Madison IR120 and IR200 are available with drying units.
Build and hygiene
The Dihr RX 101E and RX 164E have AISI 304 stainless steel boilers and stainless steel wash and rinse arms, and the RX 246 and RX 296 step up to AISI 316 boilers and wash tanks. The Norris Madison machines wash at 60°C and rinse at 82°C.

How many racks an hour do I need?
Count the racks you wash in your busiest hour across plates, cups, cutlery and trays, and allow room to grow. If you are under around 60 racks an hour, a pass through dishwasher is usually enough.
