Why use a stock pot burner?
Lifting a full stock pot on and off a standard cooktop is heavy and dangerous. A stock pot burner, also called a stockpot boiler or stock pot stove, sits lower so big pots can be handled safely, and has a dedicated high-output burner to bring large volumes to the boil quickly and hold a steady simmer for hours. It also frees up burners on your main cooktop.

Who needs one?
Stock pot burners are essential in Asian restaurants making pho, ramen and laksa broths, in pubs and restaurants making stocks and sauces from scratch, and in catering and institutional kitchens cooking soups and curries in bulk.
Installation and safety
Stock pot burners must be installed by a licensed gas fitter, usually under the kitchen exhaust canopy. Use a pot with a flat, sturdy base sized to the burner, and never move a full pot of boiling liquid without help.
