Turbo Air TB9-8H-SWBBB-N / TB9-8H-SWSSS-N - 2 Glass Door Back Bar Fridge 900mm 157L
The TB9 is the middle size in Turbo Air's back bar range: two glass swing doors across 900 mm, with 157 litres of chilled space on two adjustable shelves, at the same 800 mm height and 550 mm depth as its sisters. It runs on R290 natural refrigerant, keeps drinks at 1°C to 7°C and uses 2.82 kWh per 24 hours. It suits cafés, restaurants and smaller bars that have outgrown a single-door fridge. Pick black trim (TB9-8H-SWBBB-N) or stainless steel trim (TB9-8H-SWSSS-N) to suit your fit-out.
Key features:
- Two glass swing doors with LED interior lighting, so stock is easy to see and grab
- 157 litres on 2 adjustable PE (polyethylene) coated wire shelves, listed by Turbo Air as heavy duty (50 kg)
- Holds 1°C to 7°C with fan-forced cooling and a digital temperature control and monitor system
- Back-mounted compressor with front breathing for tight under-counter spots
- Drain water evaporation system: no extra drain to plumb
- R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant
- Recessed easy-grip handles and magnetic door gaskets
- Stainless steel cabinet in black or stainless steel trim

Good to know before you buy:
- Trim option: Black trim is model TB9-8H-SWBBB-N and Stainless steel trim is TB9-8H-SWSSS-N. Nothing else differs between them in Turbo Air's price list.
- Depth: Turbo Air's catalogue and price list give 550 mm deep, while one line on its product page says 515 mm. Plan for 550 mm.
- Access: 900 mm wide and 80 kg. Delivery is by tailgate truck to the front of your premises, and standard delivery doesn't include bringing it inside, so check doorways and the route behind the bar.
- Airflow: keep the front vents clear, as this is where the condenser draws in and lets out air.
Compare similar models:
- Turbo Air TB6-8H-SWBBB-N / TB6-8H-SWSSS-N: one glass door, 100 litres, 2.65 kWh per 24 hours
- Turbo Air TB13-8H-SWBBB-N / TB13-8H-SWSSS-N: three glass doors, 246 litres, 1352 mm wide
Common questions:
Can it sit hard up against the wall under my counter?
It is designed for tight spaces. It is front breathing, which means the condenser draws in and exhausts air at the front rather than the back, so it can sit closer to walls and under benches. Just keep the front clear.
Does it come with legs or castors?
No. Turbo Air supplies the TB9 with no castors and no legs, so it sits directly on the floor.
How much electricity does it use?
Turbo Air quotes 2.82 kWh per 24 hours, about 1029 kWh a year. That is only 0.17 kWh a day more than the single-door TB6, for 57 litres more space.
