The Anvil STA0002 puts two solid electric hotplates on your bench, a 230mm plate and a 190mm plate, so you can boil, simmer and keep sauces going without a gas connection. It heats up quickly and uses a six-stage heat switch to take you from a gentle simmer to a rolling boil. It suits cafes, takeaways, food vans and small kitchens that need extra burners, and it is the two-plate partner to the single-plate STA0001.

Good to know before you buy:

• Power: it needs a 15 A power outlet, which is different from a standard 10 A outlet. If you don't have one, a licensed electrician can install it. We supply the equipment only.
• Ventilation: keep the rear splash guard in place and don't push it hard against a wall, so the ventilation slots stay clear.
• Bench space: allow 580mm of bench width and 508mm of depth, plus room for pots to overhang safely.

Common questions:

What plug does the STA0002 need?
ICE lists it at 3.2 kW and 15 A, so it needs a 15 A outlet. A standard 10 A plug socket won't take a 15 A plug.

Can I use any pots on it?
Yes. It has solid electric plates rather than induction, so it doesn't need magnetic cookware.

How do I control the heat?
With a six-stage heat switch, from a low simmer up to full boil. ICE rates the two plates at 2 kW and 1.2 kW, 3.2 kW in total.
