Scan the barcode, press start, serve. The Benchstar MD-1800 Scan & Go is a heavy-duty commercial microwave for cafes, convenience stores, service stations and quick service restaurants. It reads the barcode on a packaged product and picks the right cooking program automatically, so staff, or customers at a self-serve station, get the same result every time. Twin magnetrons deliver 1800 W into a 17 litre flatbed cavity with no turntable, making it the most powerful model in the Benchstar range.

- Power: it needs a 240V 15 A outlet, not a standard power point. If you don't have one, it must be installed by a licensed electrician. We supply the equipment only.
- Barcodes: scan-to-cook works with products that carry a barcode. Set up each product's program once by scanning, then staff or customers just scan and start.
- Bench space: it is a compact 420mm wide but 563mm deep, so check your bench depth.

How does scan-to-cook work?
You link a product's barcode to a cooking program by scanning it. After that, scanning the product and pressing start runs the right program automatically.
Can I change the menus from a computer?
Yes. FlashTune lets you edit menus and cooking stages on a PC or Mac, then upload them by USB.
Will it plug into a normal power point?
No. It needs a 15 A outlet. If you don't have one, it must be installed by a licensed electrician.
