Instead of separate burners, the Fagor C-E710 gives you one continuous 720 x 455mm steel cooking plate with four independently controlled heating zones underneath. Pans slide between hotter and cooler areas instead of being lifted, which suits sauce work, stocks and holding several pots at once. It is the bench-top solid top in the Kore 700 Series, at 800mm wide and 730mm deep; the C-E711 puts the same top on a GN 2/1 oven.

Good to know before you buy:

• Power: FED specifies a hard-wired 415V three-phase connection, installed by a licensed electrician. We supply the equipment only.
• Bench or stand: it is a bench-top unit. The Fagor MB-710 open stand suits 800mm Kore 700 units.
• Access: it weighs 85 kg, so plan for two people to lift it into place. Delivery is by tailgate truck to the front of your premises.
