Nemco NME-8300-230 - Hot Dog Steamer and Merchandiser, 150 Hot Dogs, 30 Buns

A different approach to the roller grill, the Nemco NME-8300 steams hot dogs inside a glass cabinet, cooking them in as little as 10 minutes and holding up to 150 at a time. The upper rack holds up to 30 buns, kept moist and fresh by the steam, so you don't need a separate bun warmer. At just 343mm wide, it plugs into a standard 10 amp power point and suits front-of-house service, either served by staff or as a self-serve station next to your toppings.

Key features:

  • Steams and holds up to 150 hot dogs

Good to know before you buy:

  • Water: it cooks with steam, so keep an eye on the water level. The low water light warns staff, and the front drain makes emptying it easy.
  • Power: plugs into a standard 10 amp power point, with no gas, canopy or exhaust needed.
  • Food safety: hot food should generally be held at 60°C or hotter. Check hot dogs with a probe thermometer and set the thermostat to suit.

Common questions:

Steamer or roller grill: which suits me?
The steamer holds far more (up to 150 hot dogs plus 30 buns) in a 343mm wide footprint, with the buns kept moist on the upper rack. A roller grill shows the hot dogs turning on rollers and pairs with a separate bun warmer. Both plug into a standard 10 amp power point.

How long does it take to cook hot dogs?
As little as 10 minutes, according to Nemco. It then holds them hot and ready to serve.

Can customers serve themselves?
Yes. It is designed for either staff service or self-serve, set up next to your condiments, and the glass front and back keep the hot dogs and buns on show.
