Spidocook SPE-SP020PR / SPE-SP020R - Spidoglass Sandwich Press, Double, Ribbed Top, Smooth Bottom, 2 x 250 x 250mm

Twice the grill-marked output of the single ribbed press: the SPE-SP020PR / SPE-SP020R has two 250 x 250mm cooking areas, each with a ribbed black glass top plate and a smooth black glass bottom plate. It suits sandwich bars and cafes turning out paninis, steak sandwiches and grilled vegetables in volume, with plates that reach up to 400°C. The 3kW SPE-SP020PR runs on a 15 amp plug and the 2kW SPE-SP020R Eco model on a standard 10 amp plug, both in a 619mm-wide body.

Key features:

  • Two 250 x 250mm cooking areas with ribbed black glass top plates and smooth black glass bottom plates
  • Choice of 3kW on a 15 amp plug, or 2kW Eco on a standard 10 amp plug
  • Combined infrared and contact heat, up to 400°C
  • Black glass for versatile, uniform cooking of meats, seafood and vegetables
  • Spidocook's energy test on a double contact grill: 425 kWh a year, against 1,030 kWh for a traditional double (250 days, 4 hours cooking and 2 hours standby a day at 300°C)
  • Glass doesn't absorb flavour and gives less smoke and residue
  • Cool-to-touch design, no heat shield required
  • Made in Italy

Good to know before you buy:

  • Power: the 3kW SPE-SP020PR needs a 15 amp power point, which a licensed electrician can install if you don't have one (standard power points are 10 amp). We supply the equipment only. The 2kW SPE-SP020R plugs into a standard 10 amp outlet.
  • Bench space: measure for 619mm wide by 458mm deep, and leave room above for opening and around the unit for heat to escape.
  • Glass care: a SpidoGlass cleaner and heavy-duty scraper are sold by Meris for these plates. Ask us to include them.

Common questions:

Will it fit on my counter?
The body is 619mm wide, 458mm deep and 176mm high when closed. Allow extra height for the lids to open and some space around the sides.

Will meat flavours carry into the next sandwich?
Spidocook says the glass is non-porous and doesn't absorb flavour, so you can cook different foods one after another without taste transfer.

Do you install it?
We supply the equipment only. If you choose the 15 amp SPE-SP020PR and need a new power point, it must be installed by a licensed electrician in your area.
