Williams Quartz Star HQS3GWHC - 3 Door White Colorbond Upright Display Fridge 1845mm 1500L
The Williams Quartz Star HQS3GWHC is the largest Quartz Star display fridge: three triple-glazed glass doors, 1500 litres of storage and 1845mm of frontage, built in Australia for supermarkets, convenience stores, large cafes and bars that move a lot of cold drinks and packaged food. It holds +1°C to +4°C, runs on R290 refrigerant and plugs into a standard 10 amp outlet. Note that Williams rates this three-door glass model for rooms up to 38°C, slightly below the one and two door versions. The refrigeration system sits in a removable cassette under the cabinet. The HQS3GBHC is the same fridge in black, the HQS3GSHC is stainless steel and the HQS3SWHC has solid doors.
Key features:
- Three triple-glazed glass doors with cool white LED strip lighting and a soft-touch dimmer switch
- 1500 litres of storage with 4 adjustable plastic-coated shelves per door (12 in total)
- Holds +1°C to +4°C in room temperatures up to 38°C
- CoolSmart electronic controller for energy efficiency and even temperatures
- Bottom-mounted refrigeration in a removable cassette for simple maintenance
- Warm evaporator air directed up the front of the glass to reduce condensation
- Waste heat recovery vaporiser, so no external drain is needed
- Auto defrost and R290 natural hydrocarbon refrigerant

Good to know before you buy:
- Access: this is a big cabinet: 1845mm wide, 745mm deep, 2000mm high on its castors and 300 kg. It is delivered by tailgate truck to the front of your premises and is not carried inside, so make sure doorways, corridors and the floor route can take it.
- Power: still a standard 10 amp plug with a 2 m cable, drawing 3.1 A in normal running.
- Airflow: the cassette draws air through the grille at the base. Keep it clear and leave a little space around the cabinet.
- Room temperature: rated for 38°C. If your site runs hotter, the solid door HQS3SWHC is rated to 43°C.
Compare similar models:
- Williams HQS3GBHC: the same three-door display fridge in black Colorbond
- Williams HQS3GSHC: stainless steel interior and exterior
- Williams HQS3SWHC: solid door storage version, rated for 43°C rooms
- Williams HQS2GWHC: two doors, 900 litres, 1225mm wide
- Williams HP3GWHC: Pearl range three-door with top-mounted refrigeration, 1510 litres, 1825mm wide
Common questions:
Why is the three-door model rated for 38°C and not 40°C?
Three glass doors let in more heat than one or two, so Williams rates the HQS3GWHC for rooms up to 38°C. For most shops and cafes that is plenty; for a hot kitchen, choose the solid door version.
Does it need a drain or an electrician?
No. It plugs into a 10 amp power point and the waste heat recovery vaporiser evaporates the defrost water. We supply the equipment only.
Can I get it with locks, heated glass or different lighting?
Cylindrical locks, heated glass doors and warm LED lighting are among the options Williams offers on the Quartz Star range at the time of order. Ask us for what applies to this model.
