Gelato display freezer vs ice cream freezer
A standard ice cream freezer stores packaged product hard frozen. A gelato display freezer is designed for scooping: it shows open tubs of gelato or ice cream to customers and holds them at a temperature where they are soft enough to scoop and serve, while fan-forced cooling keeps every tub at the same temperature.
Our Skipio gelato display freezers
- Skipio SGC-1200F: 12 tubs (12 x 1/3 GN pans or 8 x 1/2 GN pans), 1195mm wide.
- Skipio SGC-1500F: 16 tubs.
- Skipio SGC-1800F: 18 tubs.
Each model has a rear sliding door for staff, fan-forced cooling and digital temperature control, with an adjustable range of -25°C to -15°C.
How to choose a gelato display
Number of flavours
Count the flavours you want on show at once. A 12 tub cabinet suits a cafe or restaurant adding dessert; 16 and 18 tub cabinets suit dedicated gelato and ice cream shops.
Space and placement
Gelato cabinets are deep units, so measure your shop floor and doorways. Keep the cabinet out of direct sunlight and away from doors and air-conditioning vents, which can soften the product and fog the glass.
Lead time
Our Skipio gelato display freezers are made to order, with a lead time of around 13 weeks. Plan ahead if you are opening a new store or refitting before summer.
Anvil gelato and ice cream displays

Everlasting gelato storage freezer
