The Benchstar GH-813EE puts two cast iron contact grills side by side in one 860mm wide stainless steel body, so busy cafes and sandwich bars can toast two lots of sandwiches, paninis and wraps at the same time. Each press has smooth non-stick cast iron plates and a 335 x 203mm cooking area, giving 12 slices per batch in total by FED's rating. Good to know before you buy:

• Power: it has two 10 A plugs, so you need two 240V 10 A power points within reach. Check with your electrician that your circuits can carry the full 4.4 kW load alongside your other equipment.
• Bench space: allow at least 860mm of bench width.
• Access: it weighs 31 kg and is packed at 940 x 440 x 260 mm, delivered by tailgate truck to the front of your premises.

Common questions:

Why does it need two power points?
It has two presses drawing 4.4 kW in total, more than one 10 A outlet can supply, so FED fits it with two 10 A plugs.

Are the plates ribbed or flat?
All four plates are smooth, non-stick cast iron.

How does it compare with the GH-819?
Both are rated at 12 slices. The GH-813EE uses two separate cast iron presses on two plugs, while the GH-819 is one larger cast aluminium grill with digital control on a single 10 A plug.
