It has two 250 x 250mm cooking areas with black smooth glass plates, 3kW on a 15 amp plug, and digital control with up to 4 saved programs and a standby mode for quiet periods. Unlike the manual double presses, which offer a 10 amp Eco version, the XPRO double is 3kW, 15 amp only, and its stated maximum is 350°C.

Good to know before you buy:
- Power: it has a 15 amp plug, so it needs a 15 amp power point. A standard power point is 10 amp; a licensed electrician can fit a 15 amp outlet if needed. We supply the equipment only.
- Bench space: it is 619mm wide and 458mm deep and weighs 17 kg. Allow room above for opening and around the unit for heat to escape.

What does standby mode do?
It reduces power use during idle times without turning the hotplate off, so you can save energy between rushes without shutting the press down.
Will it keep my settings if it's switched off overnight?
Yes. The last temperature setting stays in memory when the press is switched off and on, and your up to 4 saved programs can be recalled at any time.
Is there a 10 amp version of the XPRO double?
No. The SPE-SP020X is listed only as 3kW on a 15 amp plug. If you only have 10 amp outlets, the manual SPE-SP020 Eco (2kW, 10 amp) has the same size and black smooth plates.
