Why a proper cake display fridge matters
In a cafe, bakery or patisserie, the display cabinet is your best salesperson. A commercial cake display fridge keeps cream, custard and fresh fillings safely chilled while bright LED lighting and clear glass show every slice at its best. It is built to run all day with staff opening the back doors, which a domestic fridge or a basic drinks fridge cannot match.
How to choose a cake display fridge
Curved or square glass?
Curved glass gives a classic patisserie look and softens the cabinet on a cafe counter. Square glass gives a modern look and slightly more usable display space for the same width; for example the Atosa WDG126F square model holds 316 litres against 246 litres for the curved WDG126D. Atosa makes most of its cake displays in both styles, including the round DF...D and square DF...F upright cake showcases.
Width and display levels
Measure your counter run. Our range covers 600mm to 2400mm, from the compact Bonvue SL820V to the 2400mm Bonvue SL880V. More levels means more product in the same footprint: the Atosa WDG HF and WDF Z models have four tiers, and the Bonvue SL and SLP ranges have four display levels including the floor.
Rear service or self-serve?
Most cake displays are served from the back, with sliding rear doors for staff. Front opening models like the Atosa WDG096FY, WDG126FY, WDG156FY and WDG186FY let customers help themselves to packaged sandwiches, salads and drinks, which speeds up a busy lunch rush.
Temperature and glass
Our cake display fridges hold 2°C to 8°C. For food safety, cream cakes, sandwiches and anything with fresh fillings must stay at 5°C or below, so set the controller accordingly. Heated or multi-layer glass, like on the Atosa DF showcases and Bonvue SLP deluxe range, stops the glass fogging on humid days.
Mobility and cleaning
Castors make it easy to move a display for cleaning or a shop refit, and removable shelves and back doors make daily wipe-downs quick.

Placement and care
Keep display fridges out of direct sunlight and away from doors, air-conditioning vents and ovens, as drafts and heat make the cabinet struggle and fog the glass. Leave room around the unit for ventilation, load product only to the marked load line, and clean the condenser regularly. Clean the glass with a soft cloth and non-abrasive cleaner.

What temperature should a cake display fridge be?
At or below 5°C for cakes with cream, custard or fresh fillings, and for sandwiches. Our cake displays run between 2°C and 8°C.
Why does the glass on my display fridge fog up?
Fogging happens when warm, humid air meets cold glass. Heated or multi-layer glass helps, as does keeping the cabinet away from doors, ovens and air vents.
Can I put a cake display on a counter?
