Williams Blast Chiller WBCF40 - 40Kg/10 Tray Blast Chiller Freezer 707mm
Rated for 40 kg per cycle across ten 1/1 GN trays, the Williams WBCF40 is the higher-capacity version of the full-height Williams reach-in blast chiller freezer. It blast chills 40 kg of hot food in 90 minutes or blast freezes 40 kg in 240 minutes, then holds it in storage mode, which suits production kitchens, hotels, caterers and clubs that cook ahead in volume. It is identical in size and tray count to the WBCF30 and uses the same 15 amp supply, so the choice between them comes down to how much food you need to chill in each batch. The WBCF50 is the next step up, with 13 trays and three-phase power.
Key features:
- Blast chills up to 40 kg per 90-minute cycle or blast freezes 40 kg per 240-minute cycle
- Easy Blast 1-2-3 control panel, three simple steps to start a cycle
- Hard, soft, store and core-probe controlled cycles with an audible end-of-cycle alarm
- Core food temperature probe for accurate measurement and control
- Automatic switch to storage mode at the end of each cycle
- Slides for 10 x 1/1 GN pans or shelves at 75mm spacing (pans and shelves not supplied)
- Large, energy-efficient high-velocity fans and a large evaporator for uniform chilling across every tray
- Self-closing door, coved internal liner and foodsafe stainless steel interior and exterior
- Designed for 40°C kitchens and HACCP compliant
- Castors fitted; adjustable legs available instead

Good to know before you buy:
- Access: 1740mm high, 707mm wide and 804mm deep on castors, weighing 190 kg. Measure doorways and check for steps. Delivery is by tailgate truck to the front of your premises and does not include moving it inside.
- Power: 15 amp power point, 9.9 A while running. A 15 amp plug will not fit a standard 10 amp outlet, so have a licensed electrician fit one if needed. We supply the equipment only.
- Pans and shelves: not supplied. The ten slide pairs take standard 1/1 GN pans; plastic-coated or stainless steel shelves and extra slide pairs are optional. Ask us.
- Loading for best results: Williams bases the 40 kg rating on uncovered food no more than 50mm deep. Spreading food thinly across the trays chills it faster than piling it into deep pans.
Compare similar models:
- Williams WBCF30: same cabinet and 10 trays, rated 30 kg per cycle
- Williams WBCF50: 50 kg per cycle, 13 trays, 1915mm high, three-phase power
- Williams WBCF20: 20 kg per cycle, 6 trays, 10 amp plug
- Williams WMBC90C: roll-in blast chiller for a whole combi trolley, 90 kg per cycle, remote refrigeration
Common questions:
Why choose the WBCF40 over the WBCF30 when they look the same?
Both are 707 W x 804 D x 1740 H mm with ten 1/1 GN tray positions on a 15 amp supply. The WBCF40 is rated for 40 kg per cycle against 30 kg, so it chills a full load of ten trays in the same 90 minutes.
Does it switch between chilling and freezing?
Yes. You select a blast chill or blast freeze cycle on the control panel for each batch, and the cabinet goes into storage mode when the cycle ends.
Do you install it?
It plugs into a 15 amp outlet, so there is no installation beyond having the right power point, which a licensed electrician can fit. We supply the equipment only.
