Product details

FED Thermaster D-G7 - 7 Tray Blast Chiller & Shock Freezer

The FED Thermaster D-G7 is a 7 tray stainless steel blast chiller and shock freezer, 1250mm wide and 850mm high, that takes 7 x GN 1/1 pans and plugs into a standard 10 A outlet. It brings freshly cooked food from +70°C down to as low as -18°C. FED notes that blast chilling can take the core of just-cooked food down to +3°C in less than 90 minutes, limiting bacterial growth and dehydration so food keeps its colour, flavour and shelf life. It sits between the countertop D-GT3 and the three-phase, 14 tray D14.

Key features:

  • Takes 7 x GN 1/1 pans
  • Chills and shock freezes, from +70°C down to -18°C
  • Built to HACCP specification, in stainless steel
  • Special blast process prevents ice crystallisation, for quicker temperature reduction
  • Digital controller with probe and temperature display
  • Fan-forced evaporator cooling with European condenser and evaporator fans
  • Auto defrost and self-evaporating drainage
  • Interior built for easy cleaning, with a self-closing door

Specifications:

  • Model: FED Thermaster D-G7

Good to know before you buy:

  • Power: it runs on 240V and plugs into a standard 10 A power point, so no three-phase supply is needed.
  • Access: the carton is about 1300 x 850 x 1000 mm. It is delivered by tailgate truck to the front of your premises, and standard delivery doesn't include bringing it inside, up stairs or unpacking, so check your doorways.
  • Airflow: keep vents clear and leave room around the unit so it can release heat, especially in a hot kitchen.
  • Drainage: it has self-evaporating drainage, so no drain connection is needed.

Common questions:

Why blast chill instead of using a normal fridge?
A blast chiller brings hot food down to safe temperatures much faster, which limits bacterial growth and helps food keep its quality and shelf life.

Does it need three-phase power?
No. It runs on 240V from a standard 10 A power point.

How many trays does it take?
Seven GN 1/1 pans or trays.
